We are given our first look into the highly-anticipated new album Altars by Sadistik in the form of “Free Spirits.” “Free Spirits” and the accompanying video walk the delicate line between the carnal desires we’re all innately drawn to in this life and the haunting, ethereality of the next world. Those actions that gnaw at your psyche until they can be explored behind closed doors, away from the world, are tackled both lyrically and visually in a captivating video co-directed by Sadistik and Tim Jensen. “Free Spirits” is a powerful statement and an indication of the very special album Sadistik is poised to release April 14th via Equal Vision Records.

Altars, the artwork for which was created by Michael Hussar (best known for his oil paintings which have sold to the likes of Kat Von D and Madonna), is a cohesive artistic statement that bucks against the trend of disposable hip hop that has become commonplace in recent years. The focus is on creating a singular vision, voiced collectively through each aspect of the project, that speaks to the listener. It is emotive, it is raw, and most importantly, it is honest; culminating in a release that will undoubtedly solidify Sadistik’s well-earned position as one of the most respected artists in the world of alternative hip hop.

In support of Altars, Sadistik will be embarking on a spring headlining tour with support from Nacho Picasso and Rafael Vigilantics. Starting with a San Diego show on April 12th, the tour will wind its way north before swinging east and tackling the midwest. Full dates are listed below and all tickets can be purchased here.
